In mining, volatility is the rule rather than the exception. As Deloitte’s head of mining globally, Tony Zoghby says, “The past 12 months have reinforced the importance of taking a ‘stronger for longer’ view. To survive ongoing volatility, companies need to enhance their operational excellence and plan for varying potential scenarios. Putting bandaids over endemic issues does not help.”
