Deloitte appoints new Queensland office leaderDOWNLOAD
18 March 2013: Deloitte announced today that its Queensland managing partner Tim Biggs had accepted a global role with the Deloitte UK practice out of London and would be transitioning the Queensland office leadership to Insolvency chief John Greig effective June 1.
John Greig, a Deloitte partner of over 19 years is currently Deloitte’s national leader of Insolvency, a member of its Financial Advisory Executive and a Deloitte Board member. John will continue his leadership of the national insolvency practice as well as leading the fast growing Queensland office.
Tim Biggs commented: “Together with our WA practice, the Queensland office remains one of Deloitte’s fastest growing businesses, reflecting the tremendous opportunities within the Queensland economy across such sectors as Energy & Resources (E&R), Public Sector (PS), Financial Services (FS), property and agribusiness.
“Deloitte Queensland’s compound annual growth rate of 12% over the last three years has been driven by our deep business and financial advisory expertise, helping public and private sector clients manage the revenue opportunities and cost challenges of a two speed, high dollar economy, increasingly impacted by the digital revolution.
John Greig said: “I am committed to maintaining our double digit growth trajectory whether organically or by niche acquisitions, and continuing Tim’s focus on attracting high performance talent to our office.
“We will continue to invest in our Brisbane office and Queensland clients by bringing senior Deloitte partners to Brisbane. To date this has included two international oil and gas leaders, a Deloitte Digital partner, a senior Corporate Finance partner and Deloitte Board member. This is in addition to the arrival of John Debenham, a former Executive General Manager at Suncorp and a former State Manager for ANZ, to lead the Queensland Deloitte Financial Services practice in Queensland.
‘These recent additions add to an already strong and growing team of Brisbane Deloitte partners, quadrupling the size of the 500 person office in the last eight years.
Queensland based Deloitte Chairman Wayne Goss thanked Tim Biggs.
“Tim has been an outstanding leader of our Brisbane practice driving strong growth over the last 8 years as he firmly established the Deloitte brand in the market while working across numerous organisations to promote Brisbane and Queensland’s innovative and fast growing organisations. He will be sorely missed by all and we wish him all the best in his new global role as Lead Client Service partner for a range of global resource clients,” he said
