BrandsExclusive wins Deloitte 2012 Technology Fast 50

15 November 2012: BrandsExclusive (Australia) Pty Ltd, one of the fastest growing fashion websites in the country, with record revenue growth of 1,335.1% over the last three years, was today announced the winner of the 2012 Deloitte Technology Fast 50.

As Australia’s first by-invitation shopping club, brandsExclusive is the market leader in the private shopping club segment, with the highest number of unique visitors per month.  The company has a member base of over two million people, growing by 90,000 members per month.  It partners directly with leading brands to offer sales events to its members.

Joshua Tanchel, leader of Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 Program highlighted brandsExclusive’s long-term strategic sourcing relationships and understanding of the power of social media. The company topped this year’s winners’ list, as well as topping the Leadership Awards category, which provides special recognition to winners with revenues in excess of $50 million.

“brandsExclusive was the winner of our Rising Star award last year and it’s an understatement to say they have gone from strength to strength in the past 12 months.  The sectors driving the growth in this year’s Fast 50 are online, software and the infrastructure needed to support these.  The convergence of disruptive, post-digital technologies is changing the ways businesses must respond to individuals’ needs and expectations.  brandsExclusive is a prime example of a business that has understood and embraced these changes and profited accordingly.

“In a challenging year for retailers, they have also shown that using powerful digital technologies, embracing mobility and having a strong consumer focus can bring success.

“Particularly impressive across all of this year’s winning technology companies,” added Mr Tanchel, “is the way they have capitalised on opportunities in an environment of rapid change and disruption.”

For 2012, UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), the British Government’s international business development organisation, is a sponsor of the Deloitte Technology Fast 50.  Richard Morris, the Director of UKTI Australasia was delighted by the finalists in this year’s program.

"I congratulate brandsExclusive on their fantastic achievements over the past year, as well as all the other worthy finalists. It's great to see smart, knowledge-based businesses succeeding and thriving. At UK Trade & Investment we've helped many clever Australian Tech companies like IP Payments, Funnelback and Dtex expand their businesses using Britain as a platform to world markets. The UK provides a great business environment, with exciting and expanding digital and creative hubs and strong intellectual property protection.  Our team at UK Trade & Investment will work with all of the finalists to answer why global expansion through Britain is the best platform to deliver continued profitable growth for your businesses."

The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Program, now in its twelfth  year, ranks  50 of Australia’s fastest growing public and private technology companies, based on percentage revenue growth over three years (2010 to 2012).

Total revenue for this year’s Fast 50 winners was approximately $2.4 billion, up from $2.2 billion in 2011.

2012 Leadership award

Now in its third year, the Leadership Awards are granted to companies with operating revenues in excess of $50 million in 2012. This year’s winner was also brandsExclusive.

2012 Rising Star award

The winner of the 2012 Rising Star award was Styletread Pty Ltd, an Australian online shoe store that also has operations in New Zealand.  With the largest range of footwear in Australia, the company has developed its web-store platform on the base of a customised Magento open source platform.

The Rising Star award recognises high quality and innovative companies with strong growth potential that do not qualify for the Technology Fast 50 list, either as a result of having less than three years’ existing revenue data or not meeting the new $8 million threshold requirement of the Technology Fast 50 program.
