The Public Innovator’s Playbook: Nurturing bold ideas in government

innovatorsDeveloped with the Harvard Kennedy School’s Ash Institute for Democratic Governance and Innovation, The Public Innovator’s Playbook includes insightful examples and lays out a blueprint for embracing innovation in the public sector. It is intended to be a tool to help develop and sustain a culture of innovation.

For innovation to take root, The Playbook recommends adopting innovation as a discipline in the government organisation just like strategy, planning, and budgeting. This includes a methodical view of the creative process linking the mission to organisational structure, process, people, and reward systems, and a culture where anyone can contribute ideas – employees, stakeholders, citizens, private organisations and governments from other states or countries.
