Tharani is the Client Director that leads Deloitte Australia's Not-for-profit specialist practise. In her role, Tharani works with leaders across Deloitte, both locally and globally, to define our strategy with regards to the not-for-profit sector and to deliver tailored solutions designed to meet the sector’s unique needs. 

Tharani has considerable experience providing advisory services for not-for-profit organisations – including: strategic reviews, financial sustainability plans, capacity building training, innovation workshops, risk management, corporate governance reviews and NDIS advisory services. Tharani has facilitated numerous workshops with participants from diverse backgrounds to achieve cross-sectoral collaboration and win-win outcomes.

As the Director responsible for Deloitte’s 'Not-for-Profit program' – it is Tharani’s responsibility to ensure that Deloitte brings the latest thinking, ideas and thought leadership to the not-for-profit sector so that our clients are always ahead of the curve.

Tharani is a Board Director of the Deloitte Foundation (Deloitte’s philanthropic foundation) and is a passionate speaker and advocate for shared value, corporate social responsibility, profit with purpose, and increased corporate and not-for-profit sector collaboration. She has spoken at University of Sydney Poverty Alleviation Roundtable, ICAA Business forums, Fundraising Institute of Australia’s NFP Conference and various other forums. 

Tharani is also extremely passionate about empowering women. In her role as a Goodwill Ambassador for ‘Good Return’ – she supports the economic empowerment of women living in poverty across the Asia-Pacific region, through microfinance loans and skills development. Tharani is also on the Advisory Board for ‘Women as Entrepreneurs’ (‘WE’), an organisation that supports, empowers and inspires aspiring female entrepreneurs to succeed in the Australia market.

Tharani volunteers actively internationally, working closely with women and children, in countries such as: Nepal, Sri Lanka, India and Australia.
