The Risk Intelligent energy company: weathering the storm of climate change

Risk Intelligence Series, no.7

risk intelligence

The energy industry has always dealt with risk. However, when the scope, complexity and interdependency of risk factors increase, or when an emerging risk simultaneously presents significant opportunities, more comprehensive and integrated approaches are necessary.

Climate change provides a ready example of a highly interdependent risk with global impact, and is creating significant uncertainty for energy companies as they struggle to develop strategic plans. An integrated approach to identifying opportunities and managing risk in the face of this uncertainty is needed.

The seventh title in our Risk Intelligence series provides energy executives with insight into identifying their key climate change risks, discusses how an integrated Risk Intelligent Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) approach helps manage these risks, and offers guidance on how to benefit from the implications of climate change.
