In 2005 The Deloitte Foundation was established as a way for the firm to give back to the community. With four years experience behind us, new Foundation chairman, Dennis Goldner, has renewed our approach and our vision now revolves around having a tighter focus with greater impact.
Dennis commented, “Because our main focus is now on only four community partners, our people will have the opportunity to work directly with them. For our community partners it means we will have a better understanding of their needs and be able to provide them with long term support nationally.”
Our new community partners are:
Guide Dogs Australia
Our partnership with the Guide Dogs helps us give vision impaired people the chance to lead rich lives with the help of these wonderful animals.
ABCN– Australian Business and Community Network
Deloitte believes in supporting our own people through continuous learning. and we are excited about investing in the education and development of future leaders through our partnership with ABCN. Our CEO, Giam Swiegers, is leading from the top by putting himself forward for this partnership, and will be mentoring the principal of Bass High School.
High Resolves
High Resolves motivates high school students to view themselves as global citizens and to acquire the skills they will need to break down barriers created by ignorance and mistrust.
Deloitte people have the opportunity to work with High Resolves – mentoring student leaders and participating in their annual summit.
Oxfam
We aim to work with Oxfam to help overcome poverty and injustice and find long term solutions for indigenous Australians and vulnerable communities overseas.
