Julian Lopez Ramirez studied law in Leiden and specialized in Tax Law (direct taxes). Afterwards he worked for the tax departments of The Hague and Rotterdam in the Netherlands. In 2000 he was awarded a study assignment for a post-masters course in Leiden (University of Leiden) and The Hague (Ministry of Finance of the Netherlands), where he specialized in indirect taxes, customs and tax policy.
In 2002 he returned to Curacao and within the Directorate of Fiscal Affairs of the Netherlands Antilles his career was launched from junior policy advisor to Director of Customs and Director of Fiscal Affairs a.i. On June 1st 2012 he joined Deloitte Dutch Caribbean as Tax Partner.
In the recent past he was also recognized several times by different organizations. In 2008 he was one of the three nominees for the Frank Girigorie leadership award, in 2009 he was selected by the US State department for the International Visitor Leadership Program and in 2010 he was selected as one of the young professionals in the MCB annual report.
Julian currently serves in the taskforce Tax Treaty’s and the taskforce Fiscal regime reform of the government of Curacao
Otmar Martina has been with Deloitte since 2001 and became a partner in 2011. He is an IFRS Expert and leads the Deloitte Dutch Caribbean IFRS and US Standards Consultation Group, providing technical assistance to engagement teams with complex audit and accounting issues. As the Dutch Caribbean Quality and Risk Leader, he also manages the Independence, Ethics and Compliance Group of Deloitte Dutch Caribbean offices.
In the past Otmar spent almost two years on an international assignment on the Deloitte Audit program in Princeton, New Jersey, where he assisted with the development of several technical material (programs, manuals, learning and internet work centers), which are currently being used by Deloitte professionals around the world. He was part of the content team testing IFRS material and developing programs for specialized industries. As part of the Dutch Caribbean Technical Office, Otmar also provide technical assistance to engagement teams with complex audit and accounting issues.
Otmar is born in Aruba and raised in Curacao and now works at the Aruba office. He got married in 2002 and has three kids. He is fluent in Dutch, English, Spanish and Papiamento. He likes photography, graphic design en music production. Furthermore Otmar is an active member of a local church for over 17 years and he is also functioning as a deacon.
Saskia Lans started her career at Deloitte in 2002 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. She studied Accountancy at the Erasmus University Rotterdam and got her RA title (Dutch CPA) in 2006. Saskia has her accreditation in USGAAP and IFRS.
She moves to Curacao in 2006 and worked at Deloitte Dutch Caribbean for two years. She moves back to The Netherlands and continued her career in Rotterdam. In 2010 she made the conscious decision to return to Curacao and build a new life in the Caribbean. Saskia became an Audit partner in December 2011. She is specialized Finance, FAS and Due Dillengence. Most of her clients are in Hospitality, Consumer Business, Hospitality & Gaming and Transport. She is a member of the Dutch
Caribbean Accountancy Association.
She lives with her partner Vincent and two dogs: Pepper and Lupus. Besides spending time with her family and friends, she enjoys diving, painting, travelling and reading.
Maghalie van der Bunt – George as a human resources management and training specialist. It is Maghalie’s ambition to contribute to further development and professionalization of Human Resources Management in the (Dutch) Caribbean and to provide true added value for clients.
Maghalie has over 15 years experience with consultancy in the field of human resources management and strategy & operations in both the private sector and the public sector. In her career Maghalie was nominated for the Fatum Best in Business Award and the JCI Young Entrepreneur Award. Together with Mario Flores she heads the Consulting section of Deloitte Dutch Caribbean, consisting of 10 professionals.
Mario Flores has been with Deloitte Dutch Caribbean’s Consulting department since 1998. In 2007 and 2008 he functioned as a Senior Manager for Deloitte New Zealand’s Enterprise Risk Services department. He currently heads the Consulting & Enterprise Risk Services department together with Maghalie van der Bunt – George.Mario
Mario has over 14 years of experience with quality assurance, risk and project management. He specializes in working with senior executive teams to help them develop and implement practical, growth-oriented, customer-facing information technology and business strategies. He is experienced in both Strategic Business consulting, and IT consulting, and the alignment of business processes, people and systems.
Mario is a Certified Information System auditor (CISA), and Certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He has wide industry experience that includes the Utilities, Aviation, Telecommunication, Health care, Financial, Education and the Public sector.
Michael-leo van Romondt studied Tax law in Leiden, The Netherlands and specialized in direct taxes. Michael-Leo began his career at Deloitte 10 years ago with an internship at Deloitte in The Netherlands. After that he started working for Deloitte Aruba and after five years at Deloitte Curacao.
He became a Tax partner in December 2011 and he is currently working for Deloitte Dutch Caribbean on Aruba. Michael-Leo is specialised in tax advisory. His clients are in the Wholesale, Catering, Financial and Real Estate sector. Michael-leo is a member of the Aruban Tax Association.
