Albanian EU Integration Challenges Conference
Tirana, 28 March 2014 –Government and the key stakeholders should do more and collaborate more to support the Albanian Integration into EU, Partner of Deloitte Albania, Maksim Caslli stressed to an audience of more than 50 Albanian Governmental representatives , International Lending Agencies, Accredited Embassies in Tirana, EU representatives and Business Consulting companies at a conference in Tirana on March 28, 2014 during the Albanian EU Integration Challenges Conference, organized in cooperation with the Albanian Ministry of European Integration. To have a lasting success, the process should be analysed not only from a governmental perspective but also from a business, financial- economic perspectives”. Government and business have the urgent need to be informed and advised on how to fulfil and meet the European standards and how to absorb as much of EU funding- emphasised Mr. Caslli.
The conference also welcomed the vision of Albanian Government Representatives, Mr. Niko Peleshi. Deputy Prime Minister of Albania and Mrs. Klajda Gjosha, Minister of Albanian Ministry of European Integration and of Mr. Clive Rumbold, Representative of EU in Albania and the insights of Deloitte Brussels Representatives Mr. Richard Doherty, Leader of EU Funds projects and Mr. Michal Zavodny, EU Senior Consultant of EU Funds Projects about the actual challenges and areas for improvement based on previous experiences.
Director of Audit of EU Funds Executive Agency of Government of Bulgaria and Ministry of Regional Development of Croatia in close collaboration with Deloitte Representatives of these two countries, Mr. Ivica Perica, Director, Deloitte Croatia and Mrs. Desislava Dinkova, Partner, Deloitte Bulgaria, shared their best experiences both from a governmental and business consulting perspective, stressing though the importance that Consulting Companies have and how their absence combined with the lack of experience in absorbing and implementing projects, has often been penalizing both private businesses and government.
