Deloitte in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is composed of seven independent citystates: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Umm al-Qaiwain, Fujairah, Ajman and Ras al-Khaimah. Its location on the Arabian Gulf and between the economies of Asia, Europe, and Africa creates a strategic, geographic advantage, and has given it a long-standing position as a crossroads of trade and commerce.

One of the world’s major success stories for the past decade and more, the UAE has regrouped its forces and its strengths to recover from the financial shocks to the system it suffered alongside much of the rest of the world as a result of the international financial crisis of 2007 and 2008.

A core practice within our Middle East region, today Deloitte in the UAE has over 500 professionals based within five practice offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Sharjah. We are a full service firm in the UAE, and have well developed practices serving leading enterprises and institutions in banking and financial services, real estate, leisure and hospitality, construction, public sector activities, trading, manufacturing, telecom, retail and energy and resources.

We understand the rich cultural diversity of the region, its languages and its customs. As a result, we are recognized as the Firm to whom many governments, major institutions and industrial concerns turn for unbiased professional advice.

Our clients include many of the United Arab Emirates’ largest entities and clients in energy and resources, financial services institutions, real estate, construction, trading, and manufacturing in the public and governmental sectors. Dubai hosts our regional International Tax Services, Enterprise Risk Services and Corporate Finance Advisory practices serving clients across the Middle East.

The Sharjah, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah offices provide Audit, Tax and Advisory services to clients in a variety of industries including financial services, construction, manufacturing, educational institutions and public sector. At the beginning of 2009, as part of Deloitte's commitment to being at the fore of supporting its clients with tax services in the region, Deloitte launched an International Tax Center of Excellence in Dubai. Less than a year later, the center was ranked as tier one in tax services according to the prestigious International Tax Review’s World Tax 2010 briefings. Deloitte also selected the UAE as the base for its ERM Center of Exellence.

Helping the UAE and the region grow

Just as we’ve played a vital role in the growth of the UAE to date, we’re also very much a part of its future. Deloitte has identified the Middle East as a priority market that represents superior growth opportunities. As such, our Middle East firms, operating in 15 countries and employing almost 2,500 professionals across the region, including the UAE, have been targeted for major investment. This is accompanied by a focused strategy of expansion in key business areas and a continued emphasis on recruiting and retaining the most talented professionals from the region and other countries to serve Middle East companies.

Our clients benefit from the breadth and diversity of our resources in helping them manage their growth and broaden their presence in the global economy. Combining the global insight and innovation of a worldwide firm with local knowledge and industry expertise, our people offer powerful business solutions that help our clients excel.

To address the growing market needs, we have expanded our specialized professional services in the Middle East, leveraging our local and global talent in areas such as Financial Advisory Services, Enterprise Risk Services and International Tax Services. We have also continued to play a pivotal role in serving the region’s high-growth industry sectors such as tourism, hospitality and leisure, construction, telecoms and financial services, as well as major sectors such as oil and gas, the public sector and the Gulf region’s sovereign wealth funds. Our Middle East knowledge centers are a testament to our specialized capabilities in strategic services and industries.
