Steve Barta

Steve is a partner in the Professional Practice – Accounting and Reporting Services group in the National Office of Deloitte. He supports audit clients by researching, advising and concluding on complex technical accounting issues under U.S. GAAP and IFRS.  He also monitors accounting standard-setting activities and writes internal and external publications primarily in the areas of employee compensation and benefits, income taxes, financial instruments and consolidation. 

He led the development of Deloitte’s external publication, A Roadmap to Accounting for Income Taxes (November 2020) and was a named contributor to Deloitte’s A Roadmap to Accounting for Share-based Payment Awards (2019). He is also the national leader of the On-Call Accounting Advisory service offering that is part of Deloitte’s broader Accounting Advisory & Transformation Services.
