Your Issue: Supply Chain Strategy
Supply chain risks threaten the viability of aerospace and defense companies
Your Issue: Supply Chain Strategy

Aerospace and Defense (A&D) supply chains are being stretched to the limit. Record spending levels, wartime equipment requirements and compressed timelines are creating capacity constraints through all supply chain tiers and hindering performance. Lead times are growing and service levels are dropping, yet in many cases inventory levels are rising. To further complicate matters, costs associated with supply chain management continue to rise and are coming under increased scrutiny and pressure from external and internal customers.

Fixing these problems is challenging and requires new ways of looking at supply chain strategy. As companies move into multiple business models (e.g., aftermarket, current original equipment manufacturer product, etc.), taking a strategic view of your supply chain as an integrated, multidimensional grid instead of a linear chain can open up a wide range of opportunities. Performance and cost should no longer be polar opposites. By recognizing where to build and integrate capabilities across business models, companies can substantially drive reductions in total cost while simultaneously improving performance.

Supply chain strategy: how we can help
The challenge starts with understanding the competitive drivers of your business and assessing how well your current supply chain capabilities support each of your business strategies. We then identify the key performance gaps, as well as the areas where your supply chains are not well aligned or integrated. It is likely that a few of these capabilities can significantly drive performance. Finally, we focus on developing a prioritized, focused set of initiatives that can rapidly deliver targeted improvements with clear performance measures and objectives.
