April 26, 2012: Japanese Cooperative Financial Institutions Joint Submission
A joint submission from Japanese cooperative financial institutions (shinkin banks, credit cooperatives, labor banks, agricultural cooperatives, and fisheries cooperatives) regarding the February 8, 2012 released proposed regulations on the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
The National Association of Shinkin Banks, National Central Society of Credit Cooperatives, and National Association of Labour Banks are industrial associations which comprise of nationwide credit unions, credit cooperatives, and labor banks, respectively. The Norinchukin Bank serves as the central banking organization for agricultural cooperatives, fisheries cooperatives, and forestry cooperatives in Japan.
