Sophie Stoughton

Sophie Stoughton is an director in the Real Estate Tax Group. She has experience advising a range of institutional, private and family office investors on structuring property investments in the UK and Europe.

Past experience includes advising on the tax aspects of direct and indirect commercial and residential property acquisitions and disposals, corporate due diligence, restructurings and refinancings.

Sophie has a particular focus on ME family office investors and has developed an expertise on shariah compliant financing and investment structures.

Sophie has advised on a wide range of transactions with examples such as:

• Advised a Middle Eastern family office on the acquisition structuring and diligence of a warehouse asset worth c. £90m.
• Advised an Asian family office client on acquisition structuring of a pub group worth in excess of £1.2bn.
• Advised an Asian family office on the acquisition of a London asset worth c.£303m. 
• Advised on a number of shariah compliant financing and acquisition holding structures for Middle Eastern and Asian family office clients.
