We closed our 2022 financial year with revenue for the UK and Switzerland of £4.9 billion - 10% up on 2021.

Growth across all our businesses was fuelled by burgeoning demands, robust markets and corporate investments.

Taking each business in turn, Consulting reported revenue growth of 15%, driven by demand across the private sector as it rebounded from the constraints of the pandemic.

Financial Advisory’s revenue increased by 24% on a like-for-like basis, fuelled largely by a buoyant M&A market.

Risk Advisory grew in areas such as sustainability, regulation, and digital security, reporting growth of 4%.

Tax & Legal recorded a healthy growth of 14%, with increased demands in core tax advice, compliance and our legal business.

Audit & Assurance grew at 9% - a strong result in its first full year of an operational ring fence.

In 2022, we made a record level of investments:

We brought in a series of new measures to attract and retain the best talent and invested over £30m in learning and development, including in the firm’s new leadership centre - Deloitte University.

We also brought forward this year’s annual pay review and invested £400m in salary increases and bonuses.

And we continued investing in services such as digital transformation, M&A, and ESG, alongside continued significant investment in our audit processes and technology.

As we look forward, we enter our new financial year with strong momentum. We are confident in our investments and our talented people. We believe we are well placed to navigate the current economic headwinds.

FY22 was a really strong year for Deloitte and the hard work and commitment of all our people and partners contributed to our firm delivering an exceptional set of results.

With competitive markets and a very uncertain economic landscape, we had to be disciplined around how we ran our business – and we did that very well.

We continued to benefit from savings through reduced travel and entertaining post pandemic. And that’s an ongoing focus for us, particularly in support of our WorldClimate commitments.

Our Sustainable Delivery Framework enables our people and partners to deliver services to our clients with significantly less travel. And we’ll continue to reduce our carbon footprint and operate more sustainably.

A review of our office space across the UK allowed us to respond to our new hybrid ways of working. We announced some significant changes during the year and we’re continuing to invest in office spaces and technology that will better meet the requirements of our people and clients and also take account of our sustainability objectives.

We continue to embrace the benefits technology provides to connect to each other, our clients and the communities we operate in.

Our priority has always been to invest in our people and we reviewed our reward and overall benefits proposition to ensure they remain competitive. We also committed to increased transparency in how we pay our people.

Looking at FY23, we entered the year with significant market uncertainty but despite this we move forward with optimism as our underlying business and market outlook remains very strong.
