Meet Carey L. Oven

Managing Partner, Internal Audit Transformation, Deloitte & Touche LLP

Carey is a partner in Deloitte’s Audit and Enterprise Risk Services (AERS) Advisory practice and the managing partner for Internal Audit Transformation (IAT) at Deloitte, which is widely recognized as a leading provider of internal audit services among Fortune 1000 companies. She is responsible for developing and executing Deloitte’s IAT marketplace strategy, which focuses on adding value and delivering a Risk Intelligent approach to Internal Audit for our clients.

Carey has over 21 years of professional experience in providing internal audit co-sourcing, outsourcing and transformation services; internal control readiness and assurance, assessments and implementation of risk management programs; compliance and governance processes; fraud investigations; and finance transformation and business process assessment and design activities in the financial services and consumer and industrial products industries. She also has significant experience leading diverse teams; developing professionals; and managing large, complex, global client relationships and projects, including several internal audit engagements.

In addition to her client service role, Carey is a member of the AERS Executive Committee and Board of Directors. She previously served as Deloitte’s AERS Chief Talent Officer, which included leading people initiatives and human resource processes across the business.

Carey holds a BBA in Accountancy from Western Michigan University, graduating summa cum laude. She is a certified public accountant in the state of Michigan and a certified internal auditor.
