Meet Sarah Fedele

Principal, Internal Audit Transformation, Deloitte & Touche LLP – Energy & Resources

Sarah is a principal in Deloitte & Touche LLP’s Internal Audit Transformation practice, serving as our national leader for the energy and resources industry. In this role, Sarah focuses on understanding the trends, regulatory developments and risks that are affecting the industry and then transforming that information into a risk-intelligent, industry-specific internal audit strategy and plan for clients and prospective clients. With this focus, she has consistently demonstrated the value that internal audit can bring to an organization.

Sarah has served the energy and resources industry her entire career, with her focus primarily being in oil and gas. She has served both in the chief audit executive role and as a cosourcing partner at several domestic and multinational clients, including a major oil refinery, leading maritime organization, large petroleum corporation, large midstream oil and gas company, midsize drilling company and a midsize petrochemical company.

As part of these engagements, Sarah has led global risk assessment processes, managed the development of data analytics to drive internal audit plans and provided insights and guidance to help clients comply with various regulations, such as the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and Sarbanes-Oxley. In addition, Sarah has led and participated in many industry-specific reviews, including gasoline blending, quality control, vessel movement, tank gauging, product movement and controls, heavy equipment usage and joint venture agreement and third-party contract compliance reviews.

Sarah graduated from Louisiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in information systems and decision sciences and a concentration in internal audit. She is a certified internal auditor and a certified information systems auditor. Sarah is also certified in risk and information systems control and risk management assurance.
