Bill Copeland

Bill Copeland has more than 24 years of experience in the managed care industry serving more than 50 health plans in 40 different markets. He specializes in providing strategy, operations, turnaround and merger and acquisition services. Bill has experience working with some of the Deloitte U.S Firms' largest health plan clients and on some of the most complex engagements in the health plan sector.

Bill has worked with the boards of many public and not-for-profit health plan clients on strategic issues such as financial and operational turnarounds plans, future alignment, affiliations and mergers, as well as on development of new businesses initiatives. He has also led several projects around corporate governance and new management processes that link strategy to metrics and board oversight.

Bill’s previous experience includes starting a national physician practice management company through venture capital funding and strategic partner investments of over $100 million and serving as chief executive officer of a major health care provider.

Bill has served on the Finance Committee for the Board of Trustees of St Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana and is involved in CityYear, an AmeriCorps organization that provides leadership and teaching opportunities to youths 18-24 years old.  Bill wrote a chapter in the book, The Wisdom of Top Health Care CEOs, edited by Scott Ransom, and has been quoted in numerous top-tier publications, including The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Philadelphia Inquirer and BusinessWeek on health care issues. 

Bill has an master's degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame and a bachelor's degree in psychology and economics from the University of Dayton.
