Modern slavery and supply chain risk

Transparency in supply chains, ethical sourcing and risk management are topics of increased shareholder and consumer interest

Our approach draws on the Australian Modern Slavery Act 2018 (MSA) and the International UN Guiding Principles on Business & Human Rights, that set out the corporate responsibility to address modern slavery risks and to address adverse modern slavery impacts with which a company is involved.

Deloitte New Zealand is part of a global network of firms. We work closely with the Australia firm and the Deloitte Global Human Rights Community of Practice, bringing together more than 80 human rights specialists worldwide. We also work closely with UK colleagues to leverage their experience with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015, and with the Hong Kong firm to bring to our clients their deep supply chain auditing and supplier engagement experience.
