Deloitte launches 2020 Global Gender Impact Report for International Women’s Day

Press release

A collection of “Butterfly Effect” stories highlighting how Deloitte professionals are positively impacting the lives of women and girls around the world was launched in conjunction with International Women’s Day.

Deloitte Malta celebrated International Women’s Day 2020 with a number of events onsite, through social media, to promote the 2020 Global Gender Impact Report and its commitment to an already strong culture of inclusion and increasing gender representation at all levels.

A panel discussion was held to build awareness around the topic of equality in the workplace, to share experiences and to celebrate successes. The panel of representatives from across the gender spectrum was further enhanced by the presence of local award-winning artists The New Victorians, who gave their perspective from within the creative arts and entertainment industry. Well known for their work, including shows like MARA - an original piece celebrating women throughout time - The New Victorians also entertained attendees on the day with a selection of songs from their repertoire. Online, a campaign promoting the 2020 Global Gender Impact Report and the International Women’s Day theme hashtag #EachforEqual, including photos and quotes from staff members, was shared on social media.

The premise behind the 2020 Global Gender Impact Report is that, through its actions – even in the simplest of ways – Deloitte is generating an ever-expanding pattern of small gestures and personal connections that will ultimately lead to a more balanced world. This ‘Butterfly Effect’ is exemplified through a collection of short stories which not only demonstrate the power everyone has to make an impact that matters, but also to bring attention to the challenges gender inequality poses for women in society at large – an issue Deloitte is committed to doing its part to address.

“We join Deloitte in celebrating International Women’s Day, where organisations around the world build support for women and rally for more female representation in political, social and economic arenas.” said Deloitte Malta Diversity and Inclusion Leader Caroline Cassar Reynaud. “This year’s theme, #EachforEqual, is firmly aligned with Deloitte’s 'ALL IN' strategy – our commitment to diversity and inclusion, and to accelerating representation of women in leadership roles. The launch of the 2020 Global Gender Impact Report highlights the importance that even the smallest gestures and personal connections can have a wider impact that matters.”
