DTT and its member firms support the Global Reporting Initiative's (GRI) efforts to develop a common framework for sustainability reporting and have been involved with it since its inception. DTT’s member firms participated actively in the 2002 guidelines review process, and many member firm professionals play — and have played over time — key roles in the GRI governance and stakeholder bodies. In January 2008, Deloitte Hong Kong retired partner, Peter Wong, was re-elected to the GRI Board of Directors, having previously served on the Board for a four-year period between 2002 and 2006. Through their Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability service lines, DTT member firms advise many multinational clients on how to apply the guidelines in their sustainability reporting. In other instances, they provide assurance-related services on the application of the guidelines. DTT and its member firms consider the guidelines to be valuable for the promotion and advancement of the sustainable development agenda and to be a very important means of guidance for individual company reporting purposes. DTT, therefore, supports the GRI as an Organizational Stakeholder. More information available on the Global Reporting Initiative website.
