Transaction services

Our transaction services team specialises in supporting individuals involved in commercial transactions, such as setting up or selling a business, corporate re-organisations, fund structuring, flotations and management buy-ins and buy-outs.

We provide the technical expertise to ensure the appropriate tax treatment of any deal, thereby ensuring maximum value is realised.  Just as importantly, we understand the business drivers in each transaction and ensure that our tax advice is appropriate, bearing in mind the commercial parameters.

We have considerable experience of a wide range of transactions and often work closely with other specialists within Deloitte and colleagues in our overseas offices.

Our key areas of work include:

  • Advising on tax-efficient structures for start-up ventures.
  • Structuring the interest of individuals participating in private equity, real estate and hedge funds.
  • Working with private equity providers and management teams to maximise tax efficiency in management buy-ins and buy-outs.
  • Analysing the availability of various entrepreneurial reliefs.
  • Helping shareholders in owner-managed businesses minimise tax on their returns from the business.
  • Advising owners on a sale of their business.
  • Applying for tax clearances and advising on appropriate disclosure on individual tax returns.
