Central and Local Government have a key role in the provision of community sports facilities to enhance and improve mass participation in sport. You will often have difficult decisions to take to ensure that whatever facility you choose to develop is both viable and satisfies best value criteria. In some cases, you may be asked to contribute financially to a venue development but need to be satisfied that the long term sustainability of the proposed venue has been rigorously tested and will not be construed as a inefficient use of resources.
You will also be involved in reviewing plans for proposed new venues or the redevelopment of existing venues and will need to decide whether or not to grant planning permission.
The Sports Business Group has considerable experience of acting for a wide range of central and local government organisations in reviewing the feasibility and project plans for such sports facilities developments.
