We believe that a socially responsible business should contribute to the wider community. Over the years, we have provided both financial and in-kind support to a number of charities and community projects in the Czech Republic.
- Euromanager
- Deloitte is one of the main partners of the Global Management Challenge Euromanager. It is a management simulation program where teams of students, graduates and professionals compete in managing a virtual company which constitutes a very realistic simulation of the business environment in the field of Marketing, Production, Personnel, Purchasing and Finance. In the year 2007 Deloitte is sponsoring 40 teams in the competition.
- Cystic Fibrosis Club at Motol Hospital (official charity for financial year 2007)
- The Cystic Fibrosis Club (Foundation) is a donor-supported, non-profit organization that aims to improve the quality of life for those with the disease, as the average life expectancy of a child born today with cystic fibrosis is less than 30 years. Its activities include education of the patients and families, psychological support, assistance and improvement of conditions during the long hospitalisations, financing of specific medical apparatus and co-financing of transplantation program. The Club also actively contributes to publication of information concerning this disease which can help in its timely diagnostic. The Club closely co-operates with Motol Hospital where the Czech centre of cystic fibrosis is located.
- Projekt Medela
- We act as the auditors of the Projekt Medela on a free of charge basis. This project is one of the activities of the Asante Kenya Foundation, which was established in 2006 by Lejla Abbasová, and ranks as one of the largest projects among non-profit organisations in the Czech Republic. Its numerous activities and products include a Medela calendar, a book on project activities, a book of interviews with people supporting Medela, benefit concerts, and documentary films on charitable activities. The Medela project itself is focusing on improving the lives of children in need. The Foundation participates in specific projects organised by non-profit organisations, which are each purposefully located on different continents.
- Civilia Foundation
- For the Financial Year 2005, Deloitte supported Civilia Foundation in their efforts to provide support for young adults who do not have a functioning family background. The funds raised are distributed to civil associations and generally beneficial companies that run half-way homes and sheltered workshops for young adults who have grown up in state orphanages, diagnostic institutions or in the care of foster families. The half-way houses provide these individuals with valuable support and assistance to help them find a new beginning.
- Tsunami relief
- The Deloitte partners and staff members contributed nearly half a million Czech crowns to help the people who were affected by the December 2005 tsunami in Asia. The donation was given to the registered charity Člověk v tísni (People in Need Foundation) that coordinated the corresponding relief projects.
