Environmental Taxes: Waste Tax on Building Materials
We have recycled building materials on the dumping ground. Do we still owe waste tax?

Waste tax is levied on the delivery of waste material to dumping grounds. There is still a lack of clarity regarding the notion of ‘waste’. A lot of dumping grounds use building materials within their construction. In our opinion, building materials that are used efficiently should not be regarded as waste materials. Especially in the past, dumping grounds have been confronted with steep tax demands because the tax department regards building materials as waste materials.

Deloitte advises you on waste tax in the widest sense of the word. We assist you in objection and appeal procedures; we do waste-tax scans that reveal risks beforehand. We also give in-house workshops to make the people in your organization aware of the risks of waste tax.
