Non-profit organisations
We believe that advising non-profits requires an appreciation of factors over and above those applicable to commercial organisations. In particular it requires an understanding of the special ethos of non-profits, their structure and culture.

Our specialist unit enables us to concentrate our experience and co-ordinate our approach to provide a reliable and cost effective service. Independent surveys show we are the leading firm serving the Voluntary Sector.

About the Non-profit unit

Pesh Framjee, the head of our non-profit unit, is Special Advisor to the Charity Finance Directors’ Group (CFDG) and we run a helpline for its members. We also run a helpline for Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations (ACEVO)  Many of the issues raised are covered in the frequently asked questions section.

In our unit we recognise that while NPOs have special characteristics and requirements, in many respects they face issues in common with businesses operating for profit. There is clear benefit to our clients both in terms of cost and quality in consolidating our experience and specialist knowledge that comes from a large critical mass of relevant clients.

We recognise that whilst different parts of the non-profit sector have needs which are similar, there may be different emphasis as a result of specific legislation, culture, sector practice or differing activities.

By non-profit organisations (NPOs) we mean all organisations operating on a non-profit basis, that is, they do not distribute profit and usually are governed by a voluntary board.

The published articles section includes some of the we have written for the sector press covering topical issues for non profit organisations We also issue newsletters and regular updates and guidance notes. We also run seminars providing information to help non-profit organisations.  If you would like to receive our mailings, please enter your details through the contact link below.
