Established in 1997 in California's "Silicon Valley," the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 North America initiative presently includes Canada and the United States. It is supported by the Deloitte Technology Fast 50, which ranks high-growth tech firms by country or specifically defined geographic area. Regionally, there also is a Rising Stars  program, which recognizes young companies on track to make the Technology Fast 500 list.
