  • Go in a draw to win one of five regional prizes of $5000 free tax advice from Deloitte

Being named as a Fast 50 company, provides an opportunity to:

Benchmark your business growth
As a fast-growing company, often within a niche market, it’s sometimes difficult to measure your performance.  The Fast 50 index is an opportunity to be ranked alongside other New Zealand success stories.  In addition, technology-related businesses also go forward to the Deloitte Asia Pacific Technology Fast 500 fast growth index.

Raise your profile
Being a Fast 50 company will raise your company’s profile within the marketplace, as well as across the media and investment community.

Boost employee morale
Being recognised as one of New Zealand’s fastest-growing companies is great for business, not just externally but also internally.  Many Fast 50 companies note their position in the index boosted employee morale, helped focus the organisation on the growth agenda and acted as an incentive to sustain growth.  It’s also an excellent recruitment tool.

How is growth calculated?

The index measures the percentage increase in annual revenues from normal trading operations. The calculation for revenue growth is as follows:

Revenue growth is calculated by subtracting the 2005/06 revenue figure from the 2007/08 revenue figure to identify the change in revenue for the three-year period. This figure is then divided by the 2005/06 figure to calculate the percentage change. The 50 companies with the highest % growth will make up the 2008 Deloitte/Unlimited Fast 50.

Revenue figures are NOT published. However, these figures are required to calculate revenue growth.

How is the Deloitte/Unlimited Fast 50 index compiled?

The index is developed through a combination of Deloitte research, public nominations, and companies stepping up to be benchmarked. Companies are ranked according to percentage growth over a three-year period. Companies must have been in business for three years to participate.
