Overtime payment plan

 Français

Recent developments involving the overtime payment practices of Canadian employers have prompted Deloitte to undertake a review of our policies and procedures. In accordance with employment legislation in each of the provinces, we have determined that certain current and former employees of Deloitte who were previously considered ineligible to receive separate overtime may be eligible to receive a retroactive payment for overtime hours worked. As a result, we are implementing the Overtime Payment Plan (the “OT Plan”) to retroactively compensate those current and former employees previously considered ineligible, who, according to the provincial legislation governing their employment:

  1. are eligible to receive a separate payment for overtime;
  2. have in fact worked overtime hours during the eligibility period; and
  3. have not received a payment for the overtime hours worked.

On or before June 3, 2008 Deloitte will begin a notification program to advise eligible current and former employees of: their eligibility for a separate retroactive overtime payment; the calculation of overtime hours worked during the applicable eligibility period; and the amount of compensation owed, if any.
