For many reasons it may be helpful for a foreign investor to use Denmark as an operational basis for the expansion of a business activity in Europe, including the Nordic countries and the Baltic region.
Due to a developed infrastructure and the geographical location, Denmark is considered as link between Central Europe, the other Nordic countries and the countries around the Baltic Basin. Denmark is a member of the EU, but like the UK and Sweden, Denmark has chosen not to join the EURO for the time being. Denmark has maintained close cultural, economical and political relations to the entire Nordic Region, the countries around the Baltic Basin and Russia. In general business including corporate taxation is competitive to the other European countries and in fact very favorable to investment intensive enterprises.
Although Denmark in many respects normally has been considered a high tax country, it is a fact that Denmark has several internationally and advantageous tax provisions.
