In FY07 the Global Employer Services (GES) practice of Tax gained one of the largest and most sophisticated expatriate engagements in the world. The client is ExxonMobil and Belgium is one of the energy giant’s major regional locations. Besides preparing approximately 1,500 Belgian tax returns per year for ExxonMobil, Deloitte Belgium is coordinating Deloitte’s pan-European activities for the client, and is also working with ExxonMobil on a tailored compensation management database. Contributing to this win were strong relationships with company contacts, clear roles for everyone on the global team, and efficient procedures and technology.

Another major recent success is a three-year outsourcing contract to provide accounting and tax services to Shell retailers in Belgium and Luxembourg. It consists of 62 sites including the biggest Shell retail site in the world (Berchem - Luxembourg).

For FY 08, Deloitte expects more new players to enter the electricity and gas sector, and a stable outlook for the oil sector.
