In an election year it is perhaps not surprising the Government’s focus is on Australia’s low and middle income earners and their families, but it’s disappointing to see that business has largely been ignored.
There is very little in the way of corporate tax change and the aspects that are in the Budget are either technical amendments or announcements that have already been made.
We’ve missed the opportunity for strategic and substantive initiatives directed at simplifying and reducing compliance costs for business. We've missed the opportunity to reduce the tax burden on Australian companies, the engine room of our economy.
