2003 Deloitte Global Telecommunications Operator Survey

Deloitte has completed its first annual global survey of leaders in the telecom sector. Based on interviews with high-level executives at more than 100 telecom companies across the globe, the report offers a comprehensive view of the issues affecting telecom companies — from customer churn to regulation. Some highlights of the survey include:

  • More than half the telecom executives surveyed cited "significant improvement" is needed in seven critical processes: revenue assurance; IT management; development of new products and services;customer information; customer service; service provisions; and, billing/collections.
  • Three-quarters of those surveyed say internal processes are not conducive to reacting quickly to market demand.
