Energy e-Commerce: Retail Strategy Amid Uncertainty
An energy industry study by Primen, Deloitte Consulting and Deloitte & Touche
Retail Strategy Amid Uncertainty

The outlook for energy retailing is anything but clear, especially after the tragic events of September 2001. Consequently it is risky to pin an energy service provider's fortunes to any one set of assumptions about the future direction of key marketplace factors such as technology, customer demand, and competition.

This report by Deloitte Consulting and Primen shows how it is possible to develop an energy e-Commerce strategy that is both supportive of the overall corporate strategy and aligned with the goal of providing preparation for multiple future conditions. The linear extrapolation approach is not only risky, but needlessly so. By applying the flexible approach outlined in this report, an energy service provider (ESP) can develop a plan that avoids the pitfall of too much reliance upon certain conditions falling into place while providing affordable and workable options for dealing with a wide range of threats and opportunities.  Learn more from the PDF file attachment below.
