These are a few of the terms associated with a wave of innovations by privately held companies and divisions of well established corporations that have either sprung into existence or have gained greater visibility of late.
Such firms are attracting heightened attention and in some instances, venture capital dollars, due to expectations that these businesses – if properly nurtured, financed and developed – may be able to address many of the challenges currently associated with large scale, corporate enterprise use of radio frequency identification technology (RFID) and related mobile ID and self-organizing, sensor network technologies.
