Deloitte warns job applicants of possible recruitment scam 07 July 2004 Deloitte is warning unsuspecting job applicants to beware of a scam that has already tricked a number of people into believing they have landed a job with the firm.

Classified ads have been inviting graduate accountants and auditors with Asian language skills to apply to the firm. In one case, an applicant was required to pay fees to have their application processed and to go through a fake interview. A further payment was made on receipt of an "offer" from "Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Trustee Company Limited".

Deloitte announces new director and partner appointments 03 June 2004 Deloitte this month appointed five new directors and three new partners to the firm.

According to Deloitte Chief Executive Nick Main, the 2004 internal promotions will strengthen the firm’s capabilities and capacity within a variety of service lines, as each individual brings a significant breadth of experience and expertise to their role.

Manoj Singh, the Asia Pacific CEO of Deloitte, today announced Mr Murray Jack from Wellington, New Zealand, as Deloitte’s new Asia Pacific consulting practice leader.

Deloitte Sweeps Top Securitisation Award 17 February 2004

Deloitte announced today its member firms have been recognised as the world’s best for securitisation accounting by International Securitisation Report (ISR), a securitisation trade publication based in London.  Deloitte also took honours as the Best Securitisation Accounting Firm for each of the world regions recognised by ISR: Europe, North America and Asia – a clean sweep of all of the accounting awards.  ISR recognised the winners at its annual awards ceremony held at the Dorchester Hotel in London on January 27.

The Inland Revenue Department yesterday released its long awaited FBT Review discussion document. This document suggests a number of changes to the way in which various fringe benefits are taxed, and delivers a mix of good and bad proposals.
