Revenues for the ‘big five’ European football leagues have exceeded €7 billion for the first time according to the latest Annual Review of Football Finance from the business advisory firm, Deloitte. The overall size of the European football market has grown to €13.6 billion in 2006/07, up €1 billion from the previous season. Two-thirds of technology and telecommunications companies expect their workforce to grow by at least 6 percent over the next 12 months. Celebrating its 9th year in Central Europe, the Deloitte Fast 50 competition selects its winners based on their financial performance in the last five years. Formula 1 boasts the world’s highest revenue generating annual sporting events, with the 18 Grands Prix in 2007 having an average revenue of $217 million. This compares with per game values of $24 million in the NFL, $8 million in the FA Premier League and $2 million in the MLB. Total sales for the Top 250 consumer products companies exceeded $2.65 trillion in fiscal 2006, according to the inaugural Global Powers of Consumer Products Industry report from Deloitte. The biggest problem for filtering tools for illegal and possibly harmful online information aimed at children represent Web 2.0 contents. This and other results were published in European study on filtering solutions, carried out by Deloitte on behalf of the European Comission as part of the Safer Internet plus Programme.
