Professional services firm Deloitte has appointed Kay Thawley as a partner in a major boost to its services to the banking and finance sector.

Kay joins Deloitte from National Australia Bank, where she had an outstanding career over 14 years in Australia, the UK and the US. She was formerly Executive Program Director Basel II for NAB under the previous global structure. Previous positions included General Manager, Products and Services for NAB Europe and General Manager, Direct Retailing and Distribution in Australia.

"We are delighted to have such an experienced banker on board. This is another significant step in building our practice in financial services," said Deloitte’s Banking & Securities leader, Peter Rollason.

"Kay’s credentials are outstanding. Her responsibilities with the NAB covered branch network management, sales and service, distribution channels, marketing, operations, payments and risk management and included five years at general management level and six years in the USA and the UK.

"Kay’s deep banking experience provides a major boost to Deloitte’s ability to take a wide-ranging, multi-market experience to our clients," Peter said.

Kay was one of 45 new partners recently appointed by Deloitte. More than 20% of Deloitte’s new partners this year were women.
