Ron Loborec, a specialist in risk management, internal audit, strategic advice and corporate responsibility has been named the new national leader of Deloitte Enterprise Risk Services.

Formerly head of Enterprise Risk Services in Queensland and current head of Deloitte’s Energy, Infrastructure & Resources industry group, Mr Loborec takes up leadership of the firm’s Risk Services division.

He will be rolling out new strategies across business process improvement, supply chain, technology assurance and advisory, corporate responsibility and risk consulting.

Deloitte CEO, Giam Swiegers, said that in making the appointment, the Australian executive consulted with leading ERS practices globally and were convinced it could not find a better candidate.

“Mr Loborec is consistently cited in the firm-wide annual review as one of Deloitte’s best mentors, most inspiring leaders and best client serving partners,” Mr Swiegers said.

“Under his leadership, the Energy, Infrastructure and Resources (EIR) team has been one of the standout performers across Deloitte Australia and EIR globally with revenue growth in the last year alone of 56%, 18 new partners and more than 600 professional staff.

“The Australian EIR group is now the fourth largest globally after the US, the UK and Canada, comprising more than 7% of global EIR revenues and more than 67% of Asiapac revenues.”

In accepting the appointment, Mr Loborec said the Australian market for risk & security services continues to grow.

“Deloitte Enterprise Risk Services has world class partners positioned across the country and we’re going to focus our efforts on new value adding services that our clients need to turn the management of their risks into a source of competitive advantage,” Mr Loborec said.

“Technology security services, supply chain risk, advice on procurement in the mining and infrastructure fields, as well as climate change will be growing areas of interest. We’ll also continue to differentiate our offering in internal audit.”
