The Budget did very little for investors unless you are fortunate to hold stocks which will reap more business from the budget incentives or expenditures.

“The horse may have bolted for those stocks which gained an obvious and direct benefit from the budget. Savvy investors may still identify opportunities in companies which will benefit just as much but less obviously,” said Les Szekely, Director Deloitte Growth Solutions.

“For example solar panel manufactures and distributors should already be smiling with the doubling of the Government rebate from $4,000 up to $8,000. However the indirect impact on raw material and component suppliers for solar power may yet to be fully realised. Savvy investors should look for stocks whose benefit from the budget is yet to be fully realised by the markets.”

The indirect gains are across the education, environmental, aged care and infrastructure industries.
