Deloitte’s commitment to sustainable growth received an added boost this week with its Adelaide office planned relocation to its new ‘green’ headquarters at City Central complex at 11 Waymouth Street.
Managing Partner of Deloitte South Australia Rob DiMonte said that with the relocation to a state-of-the-art ‘green building’ the firm would take the opportunity to fully implement an office environmental sustainability program.
“As part of the program, all types of waste will be recycled into alternative energy and each month an environmental sustainability report will outline Deloitte’s environmental waste equalisation levels.”
Mr DiMonte said there would be no disruption to client services, with the 180-plus staff physically moving on Friday 23rd March, 2007, to occupy approximately 3000sq metres over levels 16 and 17 at City Central.
“The move is very timely given the growth the Adelaide firm is experiencing, particularly in the areas of Energy and Resources, Defence and the middle market,” Mr DiMonte said.
“Given the increasing demand for our professional services, we had to upgrade our space, technology platforms, client service areas and training facilities.”
Mr DiMonte said in planning the relocation Deloitte surveyed staff about their preferences and in considering various options the City Central premises rated best across a range of criteria.
“In line with the priorities recorded in our staff survey, our criteria included environmental ratings, access to public transport, security, first class built features, as well as proximity to Deloitte’s major clientele.
“The new office has been specifically designed to encourage interaction and collaboration between our staff, with low partitions, in conjunction with relaxing breakout areas, creating an added sense of light and space.
“The client area has state of the art meeting rooms, with plug and play presentation facilities and training facilities,” Mr DiMonte said.
The agreement for the Waymouth premises is for a lease term of 10 years with the first right of refusal for future accommodation to allow for expansion.
