The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) and professional services firm Deloitte have opened applications for the Peter Corrigan International Exchange Awards for 2007 totalling $10,000.
The annual awards were launched in 2004 to support outstanding young insurance professionals and to strengthen insurance industry links throughout Asia Pacific.
The awards were established by Deloitte and ANZIIF to honour the legacy of the late Peter Corrigan, a leader in the insurance industry and former managing partner of Trowbridge Deloitte, the actuarial arm of Deloitte.
Peter Caldwell, Deloitte Financial Services partner says, “We are delighted to open the Peter Corrigan International Exchange Awards applications for 2007. These awards are proving a real opportunity for the insurance industry to recognise and promote some quite exceptional talent in the Australia/New Zealand and Asia Pacific region.
“And at the same time these awards give us the chance to honour Peter Corrigan’s significant contribution to the industry*.”
The popular awards ask emerging insurance professionals to submit a research proposal that enhances the value of the insurance industry as judged by a leading panel of industry experts**.
Two winners – one from Asia and the other from Australia/or New Zealand – share A$10,000 to support a two to four week international program of work, study, research and cultural exchange.
The award is open to current ANZIIF fellows or senior associates aged up to 35.
The 2006 winners of the Peter Corrigan International Exchange Award were Farhanu of PT Marsh, Indonesia and Andre Levey of Santos Limited based in South Australia.
