Deloitte, one of Australia’s largest professional services firms, has admitted 30 new partners this year bringing the total to 303 partners.

Commenting on the appointments Deloitte’s CEO Giam Swiegers said, “strong growth this year as well as strong anticipated growth for 2007 in a number of key business areas such as audit and risk, has allowed us to admit to partnership 30 high performing professionals, as well as attracting a further 13 lateral partner hires.”

The new partners have extensive expertise in many industry and market groups including Financial Services, Government Services, Telcos, Energy & Resources, Consumer, Mining, IFRS and Middle market.

The new partners specialise predominantly in corporate finance (3), risk management (6), tax (5), forensic (1), audit (4), consulting (7) and corporate reorganisation (1) and Deloitte’s middle market practice Growth Solutions (2). As well, there was one appointment to the Practice Protection team.

He continued, “The diverse range of partners appointed across all 10 disciplines reflects Deloitte’s multi-disciplinary approach as the only fully integrated consulting and advisory professional services provider in the country. The large number of admissions to our risk management and consulting teams confirms our confidence in our existing strategy.

"Deloitte’s continuing commitment to actively support women and the success of our ‘Inspiring Women’ program has been reinforced this year with the number of new women partners increasing from 20% to 30%. Of this year’s lateral partner hires, 40% were women.

In February 2006 Deloitte was recognised as an Employer of Choice for Women for the fifth year in a row. In addition, Giam Swiegers was awarded the ‘2005 Leading CEO for the Advancement of Women’ in the Australian Government’s EOWA Business Achievement Awards.
