Toronto, January 3, 2007 — Deloitte has been named one of the 50 Best Companies to Work for in Canada for 2007 — the only professional services firm to make the list.

Deloitte's inclusion in the "50 Best" list provides strong public validation that the firm has focused on the right areas to help attract and retain the best people.

"We are one of Canada's 50 Best Companies to work for because we listen to our people and are committed to helping them excel," says Larry Scott, Deloitte's Managing Partner of Strategy and Human Resources. "This recognition demonstrates that we continue to make progress on our journey to being the standard of excellence for talent."

This year's 50 Best Employers have lower turnover amongst both full and part-time employees, receive more applications for job openings, and experience better business results, according to Hewitt Associates, the global human resources services company that conducts the annual Best Employers in Canada study.

The list of the 50 Best Employers in Canada for 2007 appears in the January issue of Report on Business magazine and in La Presse. Survey responses from over 100,000 Canadian employees at nearly 120 organizations determined this year's ranking, with additional input from over 2,000 leaders and human resources professionals.

Team approach
The 50 Best Employers earned the title primarily because of their high employee engagement. On average, Hewitt found that 77% of employees are engaged at a typical Best Employer, compared to just 55% at other organizations that participated in the study.

High employee engagement also provides the 50 Best Employers in Canada with an advantage over other organizations when it comes to retaining employees. The average voluntary turnover rates at the Best Employers are 9.4% for full-time employees and 22.4% for part-timers, compared to 12.4% and 33.6%, respectively, for other organizations in the 2007 study.
