Deloitte today announced the appointment of Jane Lodge as head of the manufacturing group in the UK. Jane is the first woman to be awarded the senior industry role. As part of the industry group based in Birmingham, Jane will be responsible for growing the firm’s manufacturing practice. She will also lead the development of the national manufacturing team to further enhance the capabilities of the group.

Over the last 25 years at Deloitte, Jane has gained extensive experience of advising global businesses across Europe and the US as well as growing technology companies and those operating in the financial services sector. Throughout her career at the business advisory firm, Jane has also worked with the world’s major manufacturing majors including DaimlerChrysler, GEC, GKN and Senior, Alstom.

Jane has held a number of senior roles within Deloitte including, partner responsible for the firm’s UK assurance and advisory training and development. Jane also spearheaded a global learning taskforce which is now used as the de facto standard for development and implementation of global learning programmes and has been rolled out to offices around the world. As well as her new position as head of an industry group, she is the senior partner responsible for the firm’s Midlands Region including the firm’s second biggest UK office in Birmingham; Nottingham and Cambridge.

In October 2001 Jane was awarded the prestigious title of Midlands Business Woman of the Year and was selected from a high-calibre group of high-achievers. Three years later Jane received a Lifetime Achievement award from the Birmingham and West Midlands society of Chartered Accountants for her services to the profession. Jane is also a council member of the West Midlands CBI.
