Deloitte, the business advisory firm, has named David Sproul as its head of tax for the EMEA region with immediate effect. David, head of tax for Deloitte in the UK, is a member of the UK firm’s executive management team and board, and the global tax executive. Alberto Terol, global head of tax at Deloitte, commented: “David has significant experience providing strategic, tax and transaction services to a wide range of multinational businesses, including some of our largest and most important global tax clients. “I am delighted that David has agreed to take on this role in addition to his UK responsibilities. His experience will play a key part in Deloitte achieving its ambition to be the number one tax adviser worldwide. David Sproul commented: “Tax has always been international, but is increasingly so. As our clients increasingly operate and trade globally, it is important that we are well placed to ensure they benefit from Deloitte’s collective tax expertise across the EMEA region and beyond.” David was appointed UK head of tax at Deloitte in 2006. Prior to that, he was UK managing partner for talent, leading the firm’s talent Strategy in the UK, with executive responsibility for all matters relating to partners and people.
