Deloitte, the business advisory firm, is today announcing the appointment of Lord Warner as a strategic adviser to its public sector practice. Lord Warner will work with Deloitte’s clients enabling the successful delivery of health and social care policies.

Lord Norman Warner of Brockley is a Labour Peer. He was Minister of State for Reform in the Department of Health from May 2005 until December 2006.

Lord Warner’s appointment follows a series of high profile business appointments by Deloitte including Margaret Ewing who joined from BAA, Kari Hale from the FSA,  Dame Sue Street, previously Permanent Secretary at the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, Nick Ritblat from British Land and Nick Prior from the Ministry of Defence.

About Lord Warner
Lord Warner has spent the majority of his career working for health and social care organisations, principally in the public sector. Prior to his appointment to the Department of Health, Lord Warner was the Chair of the Youth Justice Board for England and Wales. In the course of his career he has served as the Director of Social Services at Kent County Council, was the Senior Policy Adviser to the Home Secretary, chaired the Home Secretary's Youth Justice Task Force, and was the Principal Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Social Services during the mid-1970s. Lord Warner also chaired the National Inquiry into Selection, Development and Management of Staff in Children's Homes in 1992.
