For the second consecutive year, Deloitte has been ranked as one of the Top 50 organisations Where Women Want to Work. The prestigious award by The Times and Aurora saw entries from hundreds of the UK’s leading companies. The top 50 list comprises those organisations the judges consider have created a great place for women to work.
At an awards ceremony in London, Deloitte were also presented with one of only six special awards. Deloitte won the ‘connectivity’ category for the initiatives the firm has introduced to allow employees to stay linked into the organisation. They were the only professional services firm to receive special recognition.
Commenting on the award, Sharon Fraser, Managing Partner for Talent at Deloitte said: “This is great news. We are absolutely delighted to be recognised by this award and to be singled out as the best UK organisation for keeping people connected. The award reflects our continuous efforts to make Deloitte one of the country’s best employers."
Although the top 50 are not ranked, five special awards were given to the organisations that submitted the leading entry in each of the assessed categories. Deloitte obtained recognition for their progress across the women’s agenda. Amongst other things, Aurora and the Times were impressed by Deloitte’s appropriate use of Facebook, internal and external blogs, the increasing use of remote working technology, role modelling through employee profiles, and internal seminars, for example, the showing of “An Inconvenient Truth” as part of our green agenda. Deloitte joins Google, Cisco, Citibank and McDonalds as organisations also selected for recognition for their progress in becoming a diverse employer.
