Deloitte, the business advisory firm, has further strengthened its Technology Assurance and Advisory practice with the appointment of Andrew Winters to head up its Midlands-based team.
Andrew, who has more than 15 years’ experience in the provision of technology risk solutions, has joined Deloitte as a partner from PricewaterhouseCoopers where he was responsible for its Risk Assurance Services practice in the North East. Andrew has worked with and advised many major organisations including the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (formerly the DTI), Corus, British Nuclear Fuels Ltd, Pearson and Axa on technology risk, security and IT audit issues. Prior to joining PwC Andrew held technology roles in the public sector, financial services and manufacturing.
Andrew comments: “I am delighted to be joining such a dynamic and innovative organisation, and a team which I believe is the strongest in delivering technology risk services to the UK market. Deloitte has an extraordinarily high calibre of partners and professionals in the Technology Assurance and Advisory practice to help businesses effectively manage the multitude of technology challenges that they face.”
Simon Owen, head of Technology Assurance and Advisory at Deloitte, comments: “Andrew has broad and diverse expertise in the technology field and is a great addition to the team.
“We have been very driven in our ambition to build a market leading technology risk practice in the UK and Andrew’s hire demonstrates further progress towards this goal. The continued demand for our specialist security and technology risk skills is likely to result in our UK team growing to over 500 this financial year and we have an on-going expansion programme to bring on board top talent from our competitor firms and from within industry.”
Earlier this year, Forrester Research, the independent technology and market research company, named Deloitte the leading provider of risk consulting services. In its report, ‘Identifying and Selecting the Right Risk Consultant”, Forrester highlighted Deloitte as the only firm with ‘extensive capabilities’ across the full breadth of ‘risk specialities’.
