Deloitte, the business advisory firm, has today announced the appointment of Nick Prior as a senior partner to its corporate finance Public Private Partnerships (PPP) practice. Nick will takeover as the lead partner for the team in June of next year. Nick is currently head of the Ministry of Defence (MOD) Private Finance Unit, a team he has led for two years whilst on secondment from Partnerships UK (PUK).
Mike Turley, head of public sector at Deloitte, comments: “Nick will bring wide practical experience of implementing PPP and PFI deals at one of the UK’s largest public sector departments. This appointment, closely following Dame Sue Street who was recently announced as a strategic advisor to the firm, further strengthens our public sector team, increasing our recognition as the firm that the public sector turns to for advice with the most complex and challenging projects. We are delighted to be welcoming Nick to the firm.”
Aidan Birkett, managing partner for corporate finance at Deloitte, comments: “We are pleased to have attracted someone of the quality and calibre of Nick to lead our PPP & PFI team. We believe Nick’s appointment will improve our competitive positioning, and his direct involvement in projects as a client will compliment our strong track record in the market.”
Nick Prior comments: “Deloitte’s reputation and profile, alongside a best of breed corporate finance team, makes this an exciting time to be joining the firm. Deloitte has a huge amount of potential to build and grow its reputation in the PPP market, and I’m looking forward to working with the team to achieve this.”
Prior to joining PUK, Nick was head of PFI for Sumitomo Mitsui Bank where he built up and led the Bank’s Infrastructure Project Finance Department. He has also worked with the NHS and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
At this year’s Public Private Finance Awards, under Nick’s leadership, the MOD won an award for the best overall PFI project. At the same awards, Nick was individually recognised for his contribution to the PFI industry.
